This course covers the basics of the Android operating system. We will deep dive into the theory in order to puzzle together the complex interactions between services, applications and the operating system. Students can follow along on their own emulator as we explore the partition table, file systems, kernels and see what actually happens when you turn on your phone.

This course will cover the most basic testing methodologies including how to bypass certificate pinning, root detection and even some login screens. Additionally, this course goes through step by step on how to configure your intercepting proxy, tampering techniques and information gathering. This course includes four major practicals on the final day where they can break applications that we’ve written with great care.
